The National Convention on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (NCCRVS) is a gathering of local civil registrars, solemnizing officers, academe, statisticians, and other stakeholders from all over the country. The conduct of the annual activity is being spearheaded by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 1106 s. 2015 dated 20 August 2015 Declaring the Years 2015 to 2024 as Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Decade in the Philippines. Towards the vision of the CRVS Decade that “By 2024, all people in the Philippines will benefit from the universal and responsive CRVS systems that facilitate the realization of their rights and support good governance, health and development,” the NCCRVS aims to provide an opportunity to gather the prime movers of civil registration and data users of vital statistics in a venue for the dissemination of the latest information and on the recent developments on CRVS in the country. Specifically, the objectives of the convention are:
- To impart knowledge and updates to the participants about civil registration concepts, procedures, laws and policy issuances on civil registration;
- To present the latest interesting information generated from the reporting of vital events and to promote data appreciation for vital statistics;
- To serve as a venue for the presentation of awards to Outstanding Local Civil Registry Offices in the country.
